P1: COIL-based learning (Collaborative Online International Learning)

This is a course provided as part of the step-up education program in the introductory curriculum.In the “Information and Data Science” course, students from both Japan and the United States will learn and engage in discussions about new technologies, such as generative AI. Through this collaborative learning, students will enhance their “Information, Data, and AI Literacy” from an international perspective, fostering critical thinking and ethical reasoning skills.

P2: International Co-creation Workshop

Students from both Japan and the United States will participate in a short-term intensive workshop conducted both online and on-site. They will work on planning and developing initiatives aimed at the social implementation of AI and solving social issues using AI. Stakeholders, including companies and local governments, will also be involved in this process.

P3: Semester Study Abroad (Specialized Courses)

Study abroad exchanges between Japan and the United States will be implemented, allowing students to enhance their specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, they will gain the ability to apply and utilize AI in society while adapting to a cross-cultural environment.

Due to local hosting circumstances, short-term exchanges are being conducted instead of semester-long exchanges.

P4: Internship

Students will learn about the interoperability of AI governance, as well as the societal needs and risks associated with new technologies such as generative AI, through hands-on experiences. They will develop practical skills to connect their learning to real-world implementation and the solving of societal challenges.
